The Venue
If you ever find yourself near North Promenade in Cleveleys and craving a hearty British meal with a relaxed seaside vibe, then The Venue is where you want to be. Nestled right along the coast, this laid-back spot balances classic pub comfort with a modern edge-making it a local favourite for everything from Sunday roasts to casual solo dinners.
One of the standout things about The Venue is just how effortlessly it caters to every kind of diner. Whether you're heading in for a quick bite or planning a lingering dinner with friends, there’s a certain warmth to the place that feels both familiar and polished. With wheelchair-accessible features across the board-from the car park to the toilets-it’s built with inclusion in mind. Add in the outdoor seating area overlooking the promenade, and you’ve got a relaxed yet inviting setting that’s hard to beat.
Now, let’s talk food-because this is where The Venue really shines. For fans of traditional British dishes, the Beef Roast Beef Dinner or the Sunday Roast is non-negotiable. Generous portions, tender meats, and all the trimmings you’d expect-it’s the kind of meal that makes you want to kick back and order another pint. Speaking of drinks, The Venue isn’t shy about its impressive beer and wine selection, which includes favourites like Red Stripe Beer and a curated wine list for those who prefer something a bit more refined.
For seafood lovers, the Fantastic Traditional Fish and Chips hits all the right notes-crispy, golden, and served piping hot. But if you want to try something a bit more adventurous, go for the Salmon on Chorizo Ragu or Seabass, both rich in flavour without being overly complicated. Vegetarians aren’t left out either. Dishes like the Quorn Roast and Goats Cheese Bruschetta offer meat-free satisfaction that’s just as thoughtfully prepared.
Craving something lighter? The Caesar Salad and Garlic Mushrooms make great starters or sides, especially if you're pairing them with a drink. And don’t overlook the small plates-perfect for sampling different flavours without committing to a full course. The Pork Belly and Black Pudding Skewers are a savoury standout for meat lovers, while options like the Fish Finger Sandwich deliver nostalgic comfort.
What also sets The Venue apart is its versatility. It’s popular for both lunch and dinner, and it’s not unusual to see solo diners enjoying a peaceful meal with a view. The kitchen also offers healthy options, vegan and vegetarian dishes, and even a few quirky surprises like the Dogs Dinner Chicken and Sausage-yes, they even cater to your four-legged friend.
Caffeine lovers, rejoice: The coffee here isn’t just an afterthought. With a great coffee and tea selection, including well-pulled espressos and a solid dessert menu to match, there’s always a reason to stay a little longer after your main course.
The lack of delivery service might be a drawback for those hoping to enjoy The Venue from the comfort of home, but honestly, the in-person experience-complete with sea breeze and welcoming staff-is part of the charm. It’s not just a meal, it’s a proper outing. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic English breakfast, a comforting Fish Pie, or a decadent biscuit and tea combo to end the day, The Venue keeps it real and reliably good.

Beautiful Sunday roast the whole family enjoyed the food. Staff were very friendly & smiling. Great experience. We shall be back
Sunday lunch for 2 ordered. Not very hot but tasted nice. Staff weren't as friendly as on previous visits last year. Had to ask for desserts when they were serving another table as they hadn't bothered to ask us. Didn't ask if we wanted a further round of drinks or tea/coffee. Appeared to be short staffed and one of the staff was very unfriendly. Won't be coming back again. Don't know what's happened since last year bit it's like a different restaurant.
Had two meals there. 1 in the dog friendly area and the other in the main dining area. Good range of drinks, varied menu. Some good vegan options. Attentive staff. Manager opened the downstairs bar for us which used to be the pebble bar for a couple who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and met in that bar.
Hi we visited the venue last week (end of may2025) we had our 2 dogs with us. When we got there the staff went above and beyond to look after us. The food was fantastic. And had a lovely evening. It was a bit expensive. But we love the way they look after us even with 2 dogs. Thank you the venue for being so dog friendly it goes a long way .
A last minute need to find somewhere for tea in the area led us by chance to The Venue and what a great find. A good sized off road free car park. A nice lively and family friendly restaurant, with lovely service by Katie. The food (fish n chips) was excellent, good sized portions and great value too. However if you order a pot of tea to share the teapots are just big enough for two, and they’re not great pourers either, but good ones are always tricky to find. However the best thing about this restaurant is the sea views! If you can try to book in advance and ask for a table by the windows! Cheers.
